Portraits of England
EMEC Recordings is proud to present Portraits of England, a collection of works designed to evoke images of the English countryside at its best, in all its beauty, peace, and tranquility. Featured performer Jonathan Parkin has rapidly established himself as one of the up and coming clarinetists of his generation, appearing with many of the UK's leading orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Northern Sinfonia, City of London Sinfonia, and the orchestra of the English National Opera. Since graduating from the Royal College of Music in 2008, pianist Sebastian Stanley has been hailed by critics as 'a rare talent', 'destined for the greatness of concert halls', and showing 'astounding virtuosity'. That virtuosity is on full display here, skilfully interweaving his performance with that of Jonathan Parkin, to create a recording that captures the sense of longing and yearning which the title Portraits of England suggests.
